A really well crafter article over at torrentfreak.com that was posted on digg. I think the writer has touched on some very important points regarding music in general even if I don’t listen to the same genre that he or she does.

As a DJ its very important to find new music and the recording industries (plural to include the Canadian version) make it much tougher with their business model and also their clamp down on the distribution of music over the internet.

Same struggle different country.

Spank Rockin’ Chemical Weekend

Got into New York last week Wednesday to start interviewing for jobs, and my good friend from home was out visiting the guy I’m staying with. He had originally been telling me about the Chemical Brother’s show on the night of the 22nd in Brooklyn, but the same night he got there we decided to head into town and catch Spank Rock.

Hip Hop: Beyond Beats & Rhymes

I’ve written a couple of times before about Hip Hop, and what I see as the issues facing it as an art and a culture, but this hour long documentary does a good job of summing up some of the important points. I’m not sure how I feel about the vast majority of the movie, most of it is good common sense, but the end is what really clinches it.

For the first half it talks about misogyny and homophobia in rap and Hip Hop, which is relevant and important, but
